Hi, I'm Dan

I’m the person behind Easy As IT.

I’ve been working in the IT industry for more than 20 years, helping people and businesses solve technology problems and get their systems running properly again.

Raised on the Kapiti Coast, I’ve always had a fascination with computers and electronics. Like many people in IT, that curiosity started early — often by taking things apart just to see how they worked (and for breaking the family PC many times in the process… sorry mum!)

Before long I was building gaming computers for friends and family, which sparked a passion for computer hardware and system building that continues today.

Professional IT Experience

After studying software engineering at CIT, my first role in the industry involved assisting with the development of locally built digital jukeboxes and high-end audio systems.

This early hands-on work meant solving real-world technical problems and thinking creatively to overcome them — something that still forms a big part of my approach to IT today.

Over the past two decades I’ve worked across a wide range of IT environments, supporting everything from home computer setups through to enterprise-level systems and corporate networks.

That experience allows me to quickly diagnose problems and find practical solutions, whether it's a slow laptop at home or a complex system issue in a business environment.

What I Enjoy Most

My real passion is computer hardware.

I enjoy repairing devices, building custom systems and helping people get the best performance and reliability from their technology.

Over the years I’ve built a wide range of systems including high-end gaming computers, simulation systems and specialized workstations used for rendering and VR environments.

At the end of the day though, the goal is always the same — helping people get their technology working the way it should.

Technology problems can be frustrating, and my goal is to make the process of fixing them as straightforward and stress-free as possible.

A Bit About Life Outside IT

I am an avid gamer, computer hardware enthusiast, VR explorer and simulation junkie, with a strong passion for teaching others how to get the best out of their technology.

When I’m not working with computers, I enjoy getting outdoors for long walks with the dogs, working out, and building things with my hands.

One of my recent projects was completing my own Tiny Home build, which now serves as the workshop for Easy As IT.

It turns out the same mindset that enjoys solving technical problems also enjoys building things from the ground up.
