Easy As IT – Terms & Conditions

General

These Terms & Conditions apply to all services provided by Easy As IT.

By engaging Easy As IT for computer repair, IT support, or related services, you agree to the following terms.

Services

Easy As IT provides computer repair, IT support, system setup, hardware upgrades, and related technical services.

While every effort is made to resolve technical issues, no guarantee can be made that all faults can be repaired, particularly where hardware failure or software corruption has occurred.

Data Responsibility

Customers are responsible for ensuring important data is backed up prior to repair.

While reasonable care is taken when handling customer equipment and data, Easy As IT accepts no liability for loss of data during the repair process.

Where possible, customers will be advised if a repair carries a risk to existing data.

Hardware Replacement & Old Equipment

Any hardware components removed or replaced during repair may be returned to the customer upon request.

Where equipment or parts are left with Easy As IT for disposal, they may be securely held for a period of up to 3 months.

After this period, unclaimed hardware may be dismantled and recycled responsibly.

Prior to disposal, reasonable steps will always be taken to ensure that no personally identifiable information remains on storage devices, including secure data wiping where applicable.

Storage of Equipment

Equipment left with Easy As IT for repair, collection, or storage must be collected within a reasonable timeframe once the customer has been notified that work has been completed.

Items left uncollected for more than 3 months may be considered abandoned and may be recycled or disposed of appropriately. If replacement parts have been installed for the repair, these parts may be reclaimed and resold to compensate the associated costs.

Payment Terms

Payment is due upon completion of work unless otherwise agreed.

Easy As IT reserves the right to retain possession of equipment until payment has been received.

Late payments may incur additional administration or recovery costs where necessary.

Quotes & Estimates

Quotes provided are based on the information available at the time.

Where additional faults or issues are discovered during repair, customers will be contacted before any additional work is carried out.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted under New Zealand law, Easy As IT will not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses arising from the use of repaired equipment or services provided.

Nothing in these terms limits rights provided under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

Device Condition and Pre-Existing Damage

Devices presented for repair may already contain faults, damage, or previous repair attempts that are not immediately visible.

While every reasonable effort will be made to repair devices safely, Easy As IT cannot be held responsible for pre-existing faults, hidden damage, or issues that become apparent during the repair process.

This may include, but is not limited to:

• liquid or corrosion damage
• prior repair attempts or modified hardware
• damaged connectors or components
• degraded or failing storage devices
• brittle plastics or components that may fail during normal disassembly

Where additional faults are discovered during repair, customers will be informed before further work is carried out wherever possible.

Attempted Repairs

Some repairs require disassembly or testing of faulty components. In rare cases, devices that are already malfunctioning may become inoperable during diagnosis or repair attempts.

By requesting repair services, the customer acknowledges that attempting repair on faulty hardware carries inherent risks, and Easy As IT cannot guarantee successful recovery of all devices.

Privacy

Customer information provided for the purpose of service delivery will be kept confidential and used only for providing services, communication, and record keeping.

Easy As IT will not share customer information with third parties unless required for the provision of services.

Changes to Terms

Easy As IT reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions where necessary. Updated terms will be published on this website.

Abusive Behaviour

Easy As IT reserves the right to refuse service to any customer who behaves in an abusive, threatening, or inappropriate manner.
